USIS names Ronald Collins as Director of Growth and Innovation
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Jan. 20, 2009 – USIS, a national leader in employment screening, a leading provider of data and information solutions to the insurance industry, and the largest supplier of security investigations to the U.S. government, has appointed Ronald Collins as director of growth and innovation. He will report to Michael Beber, senior vice president of growth and innovation.
Prior to joining USIS, Collins served as a principal for Providence Equity Partners (PEP) and served on the Board of Directors for USIS, with responsibility for audit, financing, compensation, and merger and acquisition strategy. During this period, he worked closely with USIS’ senior management in identifying, sourcing, and executing transactions that leveraged the corporation’s skill base. Collins led the joint PEP and USIS team that successfully completed the acquisition of HireRight, creating a leadership position for the corporation in the employment screening and risk mitigation services industries.
Collins was with Providence from 2006 to early 2009, where he focused on transaction sourcing, execution, and monitoring while investing more than $500 million of equity in PEP-led transactions. He established Providence’s position in government services and served as the day-to-day point person for Providence’s investments in Decision Resources and the Vendome Group.
Prior to Providence, Collins worked for Spectrum Equity Investors, CVC Capital Partners (Europe), and Lehman Brothers.
Collins has a Master of Business Administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Economics, both from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
