USIS hosts roundtable discussion with Professional Services Council President and CEO Stan Soloway
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Feb. 29, 2012—US Investigations Services, LLC (USIS), the largest commercial provider of background investigation services for the federal government and an Altegrity company, recently hosted a roundtable discussion with Stan Soloway, president and CEO of the Professional Services Council (PSC), who provided a “state-of-the-industry” overview. Soloway is a former deputy undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition Reform who concurrently served as director of Secretary of Defense William Cohen’s Defense Reform Initiative.
In addition to discussing factors that impact the federal budget and contracting processes, Soloway discussed trends in State Department, Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security funding. He noted that last year, for the first time in 10 years, the growth of contractor’s professional services did not outpace the growth of the federal budget. He also emphasized that transparency, compliance and ethics will continue to be vitally important when contracting with the federal government.
PSC is the national trade association of the government professional and technical services industry. Solely focused on preserving, improving, and expanding the federal government market for its members, the PSC helps shape public policy, leads strategic coalitions, and works to build consensus between government and industry. Its more than 330 member companies represent small, medium, and large businesses that provide federal agencies with services of all kinds, including information technology, engineering, logistics, facilities management, operations and maintenance, consulting, international development, scientific, social and environmental services.
