Since 1996, USIS has been the premier provider of background investigations to the Federal Government for employment suitability & security clearance purposes. With a workforce of nearly 2,300 investigators located strategically throughout the United States, USIS can provide in-person coverage to virtually every geographic location within the country, as well as the US territories.

USIS holds our investigators to the highest of integrity standards. Integrity modules are incorporated into new investigator training & investigators must also complete an annual refresher training in order to reinforce the need to provide impartial investigations, accurately report their findings, & protect the personally identifiable information entrusted to them.

USIS Leads the Way in Applying Technology to Background Investigations

Process improvements & technology enhancements are a focal point for USIS. The Orion Case Management System is one example of a new technology created by USIS to provide end-to-end case processing capabilities within the investigative process. Other enhancements help investigators to reduce case cycle times, while focusing on maintaining quality.

Embracing the Use of Biometrics in the Investigations Process

The use of biometrics as part of the BI process is evolving & is becoming more mainstream. USIS is the only nationwide provider of BIs with the ability to both collect fingerprints & channel those prints to law enforcement for almost immediate results. Our investigators are trained & equipped with the latest LiveScan technology, which makes obtaining fingerprints from investigative subjects virtually foolproof.
